The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has asked Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to scrap certain ‘unwanted’ taxes introduced by the Nana Addo-led government.
According to him, the abolition of the taxes including the E-levy will be meaningful and not later when he becomes president.
"Tell Bawumia to eliminate the E-Levy and other taxes now, not later,” Mahama said when addressing the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA)
Dr Bawumia, in a previous address to Ghanaians on his presidential aspirations, outlined his plans to abolish various taxes, including the E-Levy, emissions tax, VAT on electricity, and the betting tax.
