The Electoral Commission (EC) has kicked against the use of drones to monitor election proceedings across the country by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Director of Electoral Services at EC, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe says the move will be “illegal” after describing the polling stations as “security zones”.

“I don't think they can do that, it is allowed and even if it is, they have to apply from the rightful authorities before,” he told Joy News in an interview monitored by Theannouncergh.com.

The NDC has promised to go the extra mile to ensure the December 7, general election will not be rigged. .

The party says they will deploy drones to monitor the election proceedings in key areas like the Greater Accra Regional.

The new approach was made known by Greater Accra Regional Chairman Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore as plans to protect balots for NDC.

“Next week, we are going to train constituency executives on how to use drones to monitor what happens during the elections,” Ashie Moore said

This follows his party's flagbearer, Mr John Dramni Mahama's call for vigilance during the December 7, polls.
