The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson has responded to a nurse who seems worried about the economic hardship in Ghana in recent times.

A comment about an insufficient salary was read from the nurse by Onua TV morning show host where the minister was a guest.

The nurse lamented her insufficient salary while urging the government to come to the aid of the health professionals.

But, Hawa Koomson in a reply, acknowledged that the Akufo-Addo-led government has done tremendously well for the health practitioners after admitting the hardship in Ghana.

According to her, the nurse's request was due to her personal needs which can not be blamed on the government.

"As a Member of Parliament and where I reside in Kasoa, I know what is in the system. But when you compare Ghana to other countries, Ghana is doing far better. Let us not paint a picture to the world that indicates that Ghana has been destroyed completely.

"One woman, a nurse, is saying that the government should come for her money. I thank her. It is true, I know that the money is not enough, but Nana Yaa (the host of the show), even if we give her the money of Nana Addo, it would not be sufficient for her," the minister said.

Adding that, "If we swap and give this nurse Nana Addo's salary, that money would not be sufficient for her because the more she gets the money, the higher her priority, the higher her needs."
