New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary, Justin Koduah Frimpong says his party will soon conclude in a decision that will prevent party members who occupy government positions from contesting in the party’s parliamentary primaries.

He told NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie that District Chief Executives (DCEs), Director Generals and state Chief Executives Officers (CEOs) will not be able to contest to become MPs.

Justin Koduah Frimpong said the decision which is yet to be affirmed by his party’s highest decision makers, National Executive Council (NEC) is likely to take effect after their impending primaries.

“This coming primary they can contest but the subsequent ones I am not sure.” He noted

He further explained, “that those that fall into the categories must focus on projecting government and their Member of Parliament and not to make their MPs unpopular because they want to unseat them.”
