Ghanaian media executive and business mogul, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, has been selected as part of distinguished thought leaders all across the globe to participate in the Global Citizen NOW summit.

Bola Ray’s selection caps a stellar year in which he marked 25 years of excellence in the media – with this new achievement simply confirming his place on the Mount Rushmore of Ghanaian excellence.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) network announced his selection for the summit on social media, emphasising this is simply a call to duty he must heed.

“Call to duty. Call to action. Not for self only but for others too. Happy to be part of the chosen Global Executives as a panel speaker for this year’s Global Citizen NOW Summit. Let’s make a difference.

“See you later this month alongside many other world leaders in New York,” he said.

Bola Ray’s selection for the summit marks a major coup for the broadcaster turned businessman.

Global leaders with remarkable standing in their fields are expected to grace the event, which speaks to Bola Ray’s reputation as an industry titan not just locally but globally.

Among participants for the Global Citizen NOW Summit 2023 are the creme-de-la-creme of leaders from all industries one could think of – business leaders, journalists, world-renowned activists, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and A-list celebrities – among others.

They include French President, Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, Hollywood star and Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Sabrina Elba, United Nations IFAD Goodwill Ambassador and New York Attorney General Letitia Jamesin.

Others are Portia Blunt, Vice President, Global Apparel, Reebok, Helder Barbalho, Governor of the Amazonic State of Pará, Brazil, Stefan Löfven, Former Prime Minister of Sweden, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, International Global Citizen Festival Curator, Catherine McKenna, Chair of the UN High-Level Expert Group on Net-Zero and many others.

The Global NOW summit takes place on April 27 and 28 in New York City.

The two-day event will bring together government leaders, private sector executives, grassroots activists, cultural innovators, philanthropic experts, and leading journalists to set a global agenda for action on the most urgent issues facing humanity and the planet.

After launching Impact @25 in March 2023 to celebrate 25 years in the media, Bola Ray made a singular, spectacular promise.

“Today, as I celebrate this milestone, I want to look into the future because the future holds a lot of opportunities both within Ghana and globally. The next 25 years is all about creating an impact in local communities at the national level and on the global scale hence our theme, Impact @ 25.” he said.

It didn’t take long, but Bola Ray has already proven that the promise is more than ready to be fulfilled.
