Businessman and National Democratic Congress (NDC) member Alfred Agbesi Woyome has filed his nomination to contest the position of National Vice Chairman as the party prepares for its national executive elections.
His nomination was submitted by former Deputy National Women’s Organiser, Dr Catherine Deynu, who says Mr Woyome intends to strengthen the party’s organisational structures and empower grassroots members.
Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM, Dr Deynu said his experience and contributions to the NDC made him suitable for the position.
“He has done a lot for the party, and this is the time for him to be at the helm of affairs to ensure that our grassroots members are empowered and that those at the constituency level have their capacity built,” she said.
She added that his vision includes building a stronger party and promoting sustainable job creation.
The NDC is scheduled to elect its national executives at its National Delegates Congress on December 19, 2026, as part of preparations ahead of the 2028 general elections.
