The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) suspended its nationwide strike after discussions with Parliament’s Select Committee on Health.
The strike, which began on June 2, 2025, was over delays in implementing a Collective Agreement signed in May 2024.
The GRNMA will resume duties on June 14 and plans a follow-up meeting with Parliament on June 26.
The association also used the opportunity to address what it called “misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda” surrounding the strike, clarifying that it was neither politically motivated nor designed to punish patients.
