41, 647 students registered for ‘No Fee Stress’ initiative

41,647 students have completed registration on the portal for the ‘No Fee Stress’ initiative, which covers admission and facility user fees for first-year students. 

The portal, launched in April 2025, requires students to submit their application for the Students Loan Trust Fund.

This was made known by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu in a post on X.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu in his post on May 21, 2025, indicated that a total of 57,327 students have accessed the portal as of now.

"UPDATE on "No fees Stress". 57,327 students have accessed portal. 41,647 students have completed registration," he wrote.

To apply, a student is required to visit NoFeesStress.sltf.gov.gh or www.slftf.gov.gh portal and provide his/her Ghana Card Identification number, telephone number and student ID number.

As part of the 2025 budget allocations for key policies and interventions, an amount of GH¢499.8 million has been earmarked for the No-Academic-Fee policy for all first-year students in public tertiary institutions under the ‘No-Fees-Stress’ initiative.

This was announced by the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, during his presentation of the 2025 Budget in Accra on Tuesday, March 11.
