Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams wishes the Black Stars to play in the finals of the 2026 World Cup tournament to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Ghana's World Cup qualifying is on track following back-to-back wins in recent games against Chad and Madagascar.

The Black Stars defeated Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before walloping Madagascar 3-0 in the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifying series.

The magnificent victories over Chad and Madagascar have propelled the Black Stars to the summit of the standings in Group I, with four games to end the qualifiers.

“Ghana must play at the world stage next year. Indeed we should be able to not just play, I wish that we play and even play the finals” he said in an audio aired on Kessben FM.

The Black Stars will regroup for the continuation of the World Cup qualifiers in September 2025.

Africans are desperate for the continent’s first finals to witness a meaningful achievement.

Morocco became the first African country to reach the semifinal of the FIFA World Cup after an explosive display during the 2022 tournament in Qatar, surpassing Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana, who had secured a quarterfinal berth.
