Andy Owusu who is national coordinator has taken on the President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, over his assertion about the newly formed Bawumia Volunteers 2024 (B24)campaign group.
The ruling New Patriotic Party will on Friday outdoor another campaign masterstroke to be chaired by the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The Bawumia Volunteers for 2024, with an active membership numbering 1000s, will work day and night, campaigning actively in the nooks and crannies of the country
But the President of the Ghanaian-based Think Tank, in a Facebook post yesterday asserted that the Vice President is mimicking the deluded '24-hour Economy' strategy of the NDC with the formation of the B24 which is expected to engage in active campaigning day and night ahead of the December 7 polls.
However, in a response to Mr Franklin Cudjoe, Andy Owusu reminded the IMANI Africa President about his limitation in the country's political discourse, arguing that day and night campaigning, including dawn broadcast, precedes the formation of his Think Tank.
"Franklin Cudjoe should know that this campaign strategy has been in existence since time immemorial; Adu Boahen, J J Rawlings, Prof Mills President Kufuor, Nana Akufo Addo and others used dawn broadcasting and engaged in morning, afternoon, evening and night campaigns since the ushering in of the 4th Republic " He noted.
Andy Owusu argued that rather than seeking to give credit to the NDC who are still struggling to explain to Ghanaians their month 24-hour Economy programme, the Imani President should be humble enough to commend the Vice President and the NPP for being active in their campaigning, unlike their opponents.
"Franklin Cudjoe should rather give credit to the NPP and refrain from seeking to downplay the good initiative of the Vice President. He knows even the NDC who are espousing the so-called 24hr Economy couldn't even think of engaging in all-round campaigning" He emphasized
