The former ambassador and the chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress, H. E Alhaji Said Sinare airing his view during the Enough is Enough demonstration against the Electoral Commission posited that the call by his party, the National Democratic Congress and other political parties for the electoral register and IT system to be independently audited is extremely democratic that any peace loving Ghanaian should support and encourage.
When asked why the forensic audit? He argued that, since the establishment of the Electoral Commission, the Jean Mensah-led Electoral Commission which many will call an extension of the New patriotic party for obvious reasons is the only Electoral Commission that historically, sat behind an IT system and illegally transferred over 15,000 eligible Ghanaian voters without their prior knowledge contrary to the Electoral laws of the country.
He further made the point that Ghana as a sovereign nation has come far with its democracy and the National Democratic Congress and other well-meaning Ghanaians are not ready, perhaps will never allow an NPP politically exposed EC to jeopardize it emphasizing the peace and tranquillity Ghanaians are enjoying despite the economic challenges imposed by Bawumia led Economic management team.
Alhaji Said Sinare, the Zongo president of the opposition National Democratic Congress emphasized that, the over 30 million Ghanaians will not sit aloof and see the current Electoral Commission truncate the will of the people by compiling a fraudulent Electoral register ahead of the rescue mission poll come December 7 and that the NDC as a political party is ready to use it's last energy to protect the over 3 decades democracy founded by Jerry John Rawlings, the founder of the National Democratic Congress.
He sounds a strong warning to the Electoral Commission to heed the calls of the NDC and as a matter of urgency, allow for the forensic audit to correct all manner of irregularities and discrepancies in the register and their IT system because the NDC will not countenance peace for the election to be rigged for a particular candidate.
The former Ambassador and High Commissioner to Egypt and Saudi Arabia has also called on civil society organizations, religious leaders, and other well-meaning Ghanaians to voice out the need to go into the election with a credible register describing that anyone who opposes the forensic audit is more dangerous than a coup plotter.
He assured the general Ghanaian public to remain resolute and stand by the NDC to push the EC to do the right thing as they all gunner to send the elephant to bush on December 7 to reset the nation.
