In a show of solidarity and a spirit to give back to his community, the leader of the Spiritual Awareness Movement and the Nkosoɔhene of Kwahu Aduamoa, Nana Kwaku Appiah Kubi I has donated assorted stationery and other materials to support pupils and students in his community.
In a short but colourful ceremony held at Aduamoa, the Forecourt of Chief Palace on Friday, 13th September 2024, dubbed "Aduamoa-Kwahu Educational Giveback 2024, " coincided with the Nkosoɔhene's birthday.
Speaking at the function Nana Kwaku Appiah Kubi popularly known as Maharaja ACHARYA recounted he received briefing from the Assemblyman, Hon. Edward Kwaku Aboagye Otoo about the community request for educational support. He noted after the discussions with the assemblyman appreciating the difficulty of the situation had to raise resources to support the community's educational needs.
As the Development Chief, he felt obliged to assist highlighting his unwavering commitment to pushing the educational development of his community a notch higher. In all a total of 418 pupils and some day students benefited from the project including Madam Agatha Day Care Center, Aduamoa Presby Primary & JHS and RC Primary & JHS.
The items donated included customised 3964 Note 1 books, 902 Note 3 books, 200 A1& D1 books each, 140 G & C books each, 190 mathematical sets, 92 sketchbooks, 188 clear bags, 108 graph books, 58 pieces of slates, 192 crayons, 293 rulers, 1955 pencils, 106 colour pencils, 1060 pens, 596 sharpeners, 40 pieces each of My 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th copy books and 870 erasers.
Others items are mats, a piece of whiteboard, white board markers, wall posters, chairs, toys, playing charts, 212 and 100 pieces of school bags and lunch bags respectively.
The leader of the Spiritual Awareness Movement revealed his other ongoing development exploits including the Electrification of RC Primary And Junior High School, Electrification of Presby Primary School, the supply of 2 projectors (one for each school), the provision of an internet modem for each school and provision of street lights to lit up some dark spots of the community.
Nana Ahea-Tutu Brempong II, Aduamoa Hene and Kwahu Benkum Hene entreated all parents to as a matter duty provide breakfast for their wards, stressing that since the burden of books, bags and other materials have been taken off their shoulders they should do well to support their kids.
While admitting that the economic activities within the community are not too buoyant, He passionately appealed to the government to consider adding Aduamoa Community to the School Feeding Programme emphasising its impact to easing the burden on parents and contributing to school improvement outcomes in his community.
The Kwahu Benkumhene encouraged parents to ensure that their kids study at home when they return from school to ensure the efforts of their Development Chief don't go in vain.
He took the opportunity to express his deepest appreciation to the Nkosoɔhene of the Aduamoa Community for his dedicated efforts to improving educational development in the community. "This proves that our decision to make you the Nkosoɔhene was well thought through and a blessing from the gods", Stated Aduamoahene.
Other important personalities who graced the occasion were Mr. George Kwame Somuah, District Director of Education, Mr. Stephen Tackie Tetteh, School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), Hon. Edward Kwaku Aboagye Otoo, Assemblyman for the area, and Hon. Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor, NDC Eastern Regional Chairman.
