Over one million jobs created in six months - John Mahama hails strong economic rebound

<p>President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that over one million Ghanaians secured employment in the first two quarters of 2025, calling the milestone a clear indication that the economy is regaining strength.</p><p>Delivering the 2026 State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Friday, February 27, he said the outcome reflects deliberate measures introduced to drive job growth across strategic sectors.</p><p>The President explained that initiatives targeting agriculture, infrastructure development, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the digital economy have played a pivotal role in boosting employment figures this year.</p><p>“More than one million Ghanaians secured jobs within the first two quarters of 2025,” he said, adding that the data shows government interventions are starting to make a meaningful difference for families and young people nationwide.</p><p>While acknowledging the gains, he stressed that efforts to widen access to employment, especially for the youth, will continue through sustained public investment and stronger collaboration with the private sector.</p><p>He reaffirmed that job creation remains a cornerstone of his administration’s economic strategy as it seeks to sustain growth and raise living standards across the country.</p>
