President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Ghana will, this month, sign the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, a move aimed at strengthening the country’s digital security framework and aligning with global efforts to combat online crime.
He said this when he launched this year’s National Cyber Security Awareness Month in Accra on Wednesday, October 1.
Speaking on the country’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity, the President said the move marks a historic step in Ghana’s fight against cybercrime.
President Mahama explained that the treaty will provide Ghana with the legal and technical tools needed to investigate cyberattacks, prosecute cybercriminals, and protect critical information infrastructure.
