The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has rushed to meet the Savanna Regional Security Council as Sawla and the surrounding communities reel under the shadow of violent clashes.
With lives already lost and tensions threatening to spiral out of control, heavily armed police reinforcements have been deployed to stamp out unrest and restore order before chaos engulfs the area.
Local officials revealed that the violence erupted on Sunday morning in Gbiniyiri, a farming community, following a bitter land ownership dispute.
The confrontation spiralled out of control, leaving multiple casualties.
Three of the six injured are in critical condition and receiving treatment at nearby health facilities.
