The campaign team of Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dismissed claims that he blamed former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the protracted Mamprusi-Kusasi conflict in the north.
In a statement issued, the team described the allegations as baseless, accusing detractors of circulating “mischievously edited” videos with “venomous captions” to stoke tribal tensions.
“Dr. Acheampong has never, at any point, attributed the Kusasi-Mamprusi conflict to Dr. Bawumia,” the statement clarified. “On the contrary, his remarks in the original video emphasized that Dr. Bawumia himself is a victim of circumstances, not a perpetrator of division.”
