Bawumia dominates NPP flagbearer race with 52% as Ken Agyapong lags at 17% – New poll reveals

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear favorite to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, a fresh poll by Global Info Analytics has revealed.

Released on August 21, 2025, the survey places Dr. Bawumia far ahead of his rivals, securing 52% of support among NPP delegates ahead of the party’s crucial presidential primaries.

His nearest challenger, outspoken former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, trails at 17%, creating a wide gap between the two frontrunners.

Other aspirants registered minimal backing, with Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong garnering 3%, former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum managing 1%, and the likes of Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo polling less than 1% each.
