A total of eight (8) Government officials have perished in a military crash at Brofoyeduru in the Adansi Municipality of the Ashanti region.
These officials were en route to Obuasi to participate in the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP), an anti-illegal mining initiative in Obuasi on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Below are the names of the officials who have perished:
1. Dr Edward Omane Boamah - Minister for Defence and former Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress.
2. Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed -Minister for Environment and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central.
3. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed - Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Dr Samuel Sarpong - Vice Chairman, NDC
5. Mr Samuel Aboagye - Former Parliamentary candidate (2020 & 2024)
6. Squadron Leader Peter Anala
7. Flying Officer Twum Ampadu
8. Sergeant Ernest Addo
