The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has firmly denied allegations that he made any statement suggesting he would sell his parliamentary seat if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were elected as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer.

A circulating report, particularly on opr.news, bore the headline: “I Dare My NPP, I’ll Sell My Seat If Bawumia Is Mistakenly Elected as Flagbearer.”

The outspoken MP refuted the claims, describing the publication as a "reckless piece" deliberately crafted to mislead the public and tarnish his hard-earned reputation.

He emphasised his continued commitment to the party and its democratic processes.

"I remained committed to serving the people of Weija-Gbawe and promoting unity within the NPP." He said in a strong statement.
