President John Dramani Mahama has cancelled the payment of fuel allowance to all political appointees in his quest to reshape Ghana's economy and reduce government expenditure.

A statement from the presidency said, “The President believes that leadership must also bear its part of the sacrifices it is calling on the people to make.”

Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, made the announcement, explaining that the move is part of Mahama's ‘reset agenda’.
