ECG Workers happy with John Ocansey as Deputy MD

The workers' union of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has expressed satisfaction and happiness over the appointment of Mr John Ayiku Ocansey as the Deputy Managing Director of the company.  

 

According to the workers, Mr Ocansey's appointment brings some confidence on the work front since coming from within the ECG family. 

 

Mr John Ayiku Ocansey has been with the ECG for 28 years and has gone through the various ranks of ECG. 

 

He has headed several departments of the company and until his recent appointment, he was the HR Manager for the Accra East Region of the ECG. 

 

He holds a BSc in Social Sciences from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Governance and Development from the University of Cape Coast, and an LLB from Mountcrest University College.

 

The President of the Republic and the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, H.E John Dramani Mahama, has appointed him as the Acting Deputy Managing Director for the Electricity Company of Ghana. 

 

In an introductory letter sighted at the Ministry of Energy, signed by the Energy Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, called on all the workers of the ECG across the country to accord him (John Ocansey) the necessary support for the collective success of the ECG.

 

The general secretary to the Public Utility Workers Union, Mr Timothy Nyame described the appointment of Mr. John Ayiku Ocansey as the best-ever appointment made. According to him, his over 28 years of experience with ECG will be more beneficial to the company. He on behalf of the entire workers union of ECG, commended the president for such an appointment.
