The Ahafo Region will soon benefit from the Turkish Government in areas of Agriculture, Reafforestation, Capacity Building, Health, Mechanized Boreholes, Education, Investment and Trade Conference, May 2025.
The Ambassador of Turkey to Ghana, H.E. Huseyin Gungor has assured that his government and counterparts will collaborate with the Ahafo Region to support Skills Training and apprenticeship programs such as Bakery, Soap making, dressmaking, Beads making among others.
The Turkish Ambassador also assured that his government will provide the Ahafo region with investors to support the construction of an Ahafo Regional Hospital and ultra-modern Regional Medical School.
In the Agric sector, the Turkish government agreed to provide an investor who will establish a cocoa processing plant for the region.
The investor will also aid the region to planting trees in an area where there used to be a forest, which is a practice aimed at restoring previously existing forests and woodlands that have been destroyed or damaged (Reafforestation) together with the provision of mechanized boreholes and potable drinking water.
The Turkish ambassador to Ghana posited that his government will organize an investment and trade conference for the region at Turkey in May 2025 to explore business opportunities for Ahafo entrepreneurs and business executives.
H.E. Huseyin Gungor made these known when the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner with a delegation paid a courtesy call on him at the Turkish embassy in Accra on Friday, 14th March 2025.
He further stated that the Ahafo region has vast opportunities in areas of mineral resources, agriculture, health, education and tourism. Hence, there is a need to explore these potentials.
H.E. Huseyin Gungor commended the Country for political stability and strong democracy, and that, these factors have made Ghana very attractive for investments and trade.
The Ahafo regional minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner commended the Turkish government for strengthening and sustaining good relations between Ghana and Turkey over the years.
Hon. Charity Gardiner urged for the enhancement of new economic cooperation in trade and investment between Turkey and the Ahafo Region for mutual benefit.
