In the wake of the devastating tidal waves that have struck communities in Ketu South, significant donations have been made to support the affected residents.
The contributions aim to provide much-needed relief to those grappling with the destruction caused by the natural disaster.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has donated 250 bags of 25kg rice, 50 boxes of cooking oil, and 1,000 bags of sachet water.
These essential provisions are intended to offer immediate assistance to families who have been displaced or left struggling in the aftermath of the tidal waves.
Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has also made a generous contribution of GH¢100,000 to support relief efforts, demonstrating his commitment to assisting those in distress.
Additionally, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has provided a range of essential relief items to ensure that basic needs such as food and water are met.
President John Dramani Mahama, during a visit to Agavedzi on Thursday, 6th March, assessed the extent of the destruction and assured victims of the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support.
He stated that their Member of Parliament and Minister for Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who is currently away on a national assignment, would oversee the distribution of the relief items upon her return at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament from the Volta Caucus have also come together to contribute an additional GH¢100,000 to the relief efforts.
Their collective support reinforces the commitment of both government and private individuals in ensuring that affected communities receive the necessary assistance to recover from the disaster.
