Oliver Barker-Vormawor was summoned by Parliament’s Appointments Committee to appear on Wednesday with evidence regarding his allegation that committee members accept bribes from ministerial nominees.

Barker-Vormawor welcomed the summons, viewing it as a positive step for democracy.

Barker-Vormawor had put up a post on social media making the allegation on January 24, 2025.

"So all the monies the ministerial appointees are being asked to pay to the Appointments Committee just to get approved, are those not affected by ORAL? Strange Republic," was what he posted.

Shortly after the issues had been raised at the committee meeting and members were deliberating on suspending sitting until Barker-Vormawor had appeared with his evidence, Barker-Vormawor responded with a reaction on Facebook.

"This is how a Democracy improves. I look forward to appearing before the Appointments Committee tomorrow. Thank You," he wrote.
