Inaki Williams has praised his Athletic Bilbao teammates after withstanding a scare from lower-tier side Logrones to keep their hopes of retaining the Copa del Rey title alive.
Williams featured for Bilbao as they defeated Logrones 4-3 on penalties to advance to the last 16 of the competition.
Despite creating several chances, the game was forced to penalty shootouts after Alvaro Djalo and Gorka Guruzeta came close during regulation time, while Nico Williams forced an excellent save from Kike Royo in extra time.
During the shootouts, Williams' younger brother Nico missed from the spot but Unai Gomez netted the winner from the spot for the holders.
"To win any competition you have to overcome these kinds of matches, which are very difficult. Objective achieved. On to the next one!" wrote Williams after the game.
Bilbao have been on a good run of form in La Liga this season, with the Ghanaian at the hear of their attack, contributing nine goals in 18 league games. He has also netted four goals in six matches in the Europa League.
Williams and his teammates will now switch their attention to the upcoming game against Barcelona.
