The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Manhyia South Constituency Chairman, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, has provided details of his revelation that the NDC is planning to unleash evil on the country in the December 7 elections.

According to him, John Mahama and his NDC  are emboldening their supporters to among other negative acts, snatch ballot boxes and cause violence at polling stations.

“We need to draw the attention of Ghanaians to the fact that, the NDC want to plunge the nation into violence. But, the NDC should know that Ghana is not for any particular party.

“This country is for all of us so no political party should be allowed to destroy the country, that is why I issued the red alert. The security services should be vigilant, “ he stated.

Mr Ofori Atta, affectionately called Tom Tom, gave these details when he spoke with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ morning show on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Background

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Chairman Tom Tom revealed on Accra-based Angel FM that the NDC not campaigning means the main opposition is planning to execute their evil agenda in the elections.

Giving details on Okay FM on Thursday, Tom Tom tore into the NDC saying, for a party that has been in and out of government and is well known to be good in campaigning, taking a low profile at this crucial period gives ample indication that the party is planning evil.

NPP campaign

Tom Tom reiterated that in contrast, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew  Prempeh as well as their wives, Samira and Alma , are all engaged in intensive campaigning.

Besides, party chairman, Stephen Ntim and General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong are equally engaged in active grounds campaigning.

“This is why I’m averting the minds of Ghanaians to the fact that the NDC has been in this game of politics for long and that anytime they are not campaigning, it means they are planning something diabolic,” he said.

He said the Supreme Court and the Electoral Commission “have made us aware that elections are won at the polling stations so if you are not campaigning what results will you expect?”

“If a political party will not work hard and lose the elections they have no reason to cause disturbances in the country.”

Demonstrations

The Manhyia South Chairman further emphasized that the NDC has been behind demonstrations, including the one on galamsey, but the tactic has failed.

He added: “ The latest development in Parliament is another example. Had it not been the maturity shown by the Majority caucus led by Alexander Afenyo Markin, who went to the Supreme Court, a nasty story would have been told”.

Ineffective campaign

Tom Tom described Mahama’s campaign as ineffective.

“In his campaign, he just scratches the surface of issues instead of taking time to explain why Ghanaians rejected him in the 2016 and 2020 elections, and how he intends to correct his failures.

“His 24-hour economy promise has been crushed because he cannot explain it,” Tom Tom explained.

Bawumia’s achievements

“Bawumia who is a Vice President can proudly proclaim that he has led 33 impactful initiatives so when he gets the opportunity to become President he will do greater things.

“But, as a former President, John Mahama cannot point to just three policies he brought that impacted the lives of the people,” Tom Tom stated.

Anti-SHS

Tom Tom took on the former President for his past anti-SHS activities.

“He sponsored 47 adverts against the introduction of Free SHS and so disingenuous as he is, he is now saying he will improve the programme if he wins the election.

“John Mahama said Free SHS was a scam. Okudzeto Ablakwa, Asiedu Nketiah and other NDC leaders all joined in rubbishing Free SHS. “

Tom Tom questioned what the NDC intends to do to Free SHS since the NPP has already put the policy on a strong footing.

Nation wreckers

The Manhyia South NPP Chairman described the NDC as nation wreckers and urged Ghanaian voters to reject them.

“It is only the NPP that drives national development when in power.

“Just a few days ago, Mahama was on a campaign platform using the word ‘stupid’. That word is used by uncultured people. It is distasteful coming from a former President,” he said.
