From all indications, traditional and religious leaders in the country will play key roles in the governance of the country if Dr. Bawumia becomes the president in 2025.

The Bawumia-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration would particularly collaborate with chiefs and the clergy to find antidotes to the rise in moral decadence in the country.

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka ‘Napo’, making the disclosure, expressed concern over moral decay in the state.

According to him, his boss, Dr. Bawumia is also not happy about the increasing cases of moral decadence among the citizenry, especially the youth, who are the future leaders.

Napo said Dr. Bawumia is aware that traditional and religious leaders command a lot of respect and influence in the country so they can help tackle moral decay issues.

“Dr. Bawumia, when God willing he becomes the president, will collaborate with chiefs and religious leaders to address moral decadence among some or the populace”, he said.

Napo, who was speaking to chiefs and religious leaders at Debiso in the Western North Region, said the country can not develop with people who are not morally upright.

“Moral decay will lead to unnecessary issues such as corruption, stealing, robberies, teenage pregnancies, division, and all the negative things you can think about.

“In the nutshell, we can not develop properly as a country with a population which is morally bankrupt, and that’s why Dr. Bawumia will involve chiefs and the clearly to fight moral decay”.

Napo said that as efforts are made to transform the country, issues of moral decadence, which have virtually become an albatross in the neck of the state, should be tackled first.

“The country’s developmental aspirations would be expedited greatly if the citizenry, who are the human resource and engine for development, are morally upright”.

Napo, therefore, said Dr. Bawumia is committed and ever ready to collaborate with leaders of various communities to effectively deal with the particular ills in their society.

Dr. Bawumia, he said, appreciates the key roles being played by stakeholders and societal leaders to deal with moral decadence, and “he shall strengthen it as president”.

In conclusion, Napo appealed passionately to his audience to cast their ballots for Dr. Bawumia on December 7 to sustain the outstanding works of the NPP administration.
