Popular Cleveland-based activist Kwame Botchway found dead in apartment

A fast-rising community-based activist with global impact in Cleveland in the US state of Ohio has been found dead, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Law enforcement is yet to comment on the death officially but the Ghanaian was found dead in his apartment in West side Cleveland Ohio earlier this morning.

Authorities are said to be investigating the circumstances of his death with details being very sketchy as MyNewsGh.com pursues lead on the matter.

Kwame Botchway was said to have had plans to visit his mother in Ghana in the next few weeks and help his younger brother join him in the US before his untimely death.

Tributes have been pouring in in Ghana and worldwide for the talented Kwame Botchway.

The Cleveland National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Cleveland where the Ghanaian worked say this mourns the loss of “The Cleveland Optimist” who they say is a former member of their Executive Board.

“A passionate advocate for social justice and economic development, Kwame’s work with Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and Citadel Impact Consulting left a lasting impact on our community. His commitment to uplifting Black and Brown families and elevating minority contractors will be remembered. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and all who were touched by his life.” Their statement said.
