The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has raised concerns about the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) decision on a peace declaration before the December 7 general election.
The NDC's National Chairman, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has been quoted to have said his leadership “won’t sign peace declaration ahead of elections” in an interview with Joy News’ current affairs programme, PM Express, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The NDC's stance, according to the NPP is “worrying”.
They, however, called on the National Peace Council to act swiftly on their decision.
A statement from the NPP and signed by its General Secretary Justin Kodia Frimpong suggests the NDC is “beating the drums of war” and “preparing the minds of their supporters to reject the outcome of the 2024 general elections, foreseeing their inevitable loss.”
