Britain's Got Talent's Ghanaian dancing duo Abigail and Afronita sent both the audience and fans at home wild with their performance on Thursday night.

Dance teacher Afronita, 20, and her protege Abigail, seven, soared to victory in the fourth semi-final on Thursday, winning the public vote and a place in Sunday's final.

Afronita and Abigail performed an electrifying Azonto routine, a dance and music genre from Ghana, to Brighter Days by Sigala.

The roars from the Eventim Apollo audience were so loud the judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli could barely hear themselves speak to give their feedback.

Simon also revealed that he believed the pair could be in with a chance of winning, saying he had 'changed his mind' as to who he thought would be victorious.

'I think what is happening behind me [the deafening cheers] is more important than what I say,' Simon said.

'When you've got it, you've got it. I thought last night "Yeah I've got a feeling I know who's going to win the show this year," and I've just changed my mind.'

Afronita met young Abigail, a deaf dancer who went on to win a huge talent competition in Ghana, when she started her own studio.

The pair's performance set the venue on fire, with deafening cheers from the audience.

Of their performance, Alesha said: 'Sometimes there aren't enough words to articulate how an act makes you feel because the audience says it for us.

'So much natural sauce, so much flavour, so much personality, so much joy that you just brought to the Britain's Got Talent stage. I would love to see you in the final.'

Asked how the comments made her feel, Afronita said: 'I feel blessed. I feel so so blessed to be here and to see the audience on their feet, the judges happy. It's crazy. And I know she feels the same way [gesturing to Abigail].'

The audience's enthusiam for the act was echoed by viewers at home, who wrote on X, formerly Twitter: 'Hope they make the final! Not only very talented dancers, they make you want to get up and dance with them. So joyful Abigail and Afronnita,';

Abigail and Afronita have brought absolute vibes to the stage tonight! And the smile says it all! These girls are so talented! Let’s get these girls to the final!';

'OK, Abigail and Afronitaa have just melted my cold, dead heart,'; 'Wow well done Abigail and Afronitaaa that was such a fantastic performance and full of energy as well I really enjoyed it! :),

'TAKE YOUR MOMENT GURLS,'; 'There we go. Actual TALENT on a show called Britains got TALENT. Who'd have thought it! Impeccable timing and so much choreography to learn. Joyful!';

'The Apollo is going WILD!!! That was wonderful!!'; 'Abigail and Afronitaaa have gotta be contenders after that. Unreal dancers!';

'I honestly think Abigail & Afronitaaa are one of the best dance acts that’s ever been on this show. Needed in the final,'; 'Abigail and Afronita, simply joyous. I smiled a lot.'

Abigail and Afronita earned a place in the final along with choir Northants Sings Out.

Last night saw Sydnie Christmas receive the highest number of public votes after she astounded the audience and judges with her version of Frank Sinatra's My Way.
