The Awutu Ofaako Traditional council is led by the overlord, Nai. ODUPONG AWUSHI TETTEH has categorically disassociated itself from the illegal acquisition of lands in Kasoa.
In addressing the matter, Nai Odupong Awuhsi Tetteh, made it known that, the imposter Nai. Kwabena Atopi who is parading himself and claiming people's lands in Kasoa do not have any right to do so, Nai Odupong stated in plain language that, he has not sent anyone on a mission to claim lands for him, he therefore challenged Nai. Kwabena Atopi to come and tell the world who gave him such authority.
On the whole, Nai. Odupong Awushi Tetteh says he has not instructed anyone to embark on such illegality, therefore what Kwabena Atopi is doing in Kasoa is criminal and should be arrested immediately.
He made these remarks when the Central East Regional Police Command led by DCoP Owusu Bempah and his men visited the palace to verify the claims of Kwabena Atopi who paraded himself as a boundary Chief of Awutu Odupong, authorized by the Ofaako palace to take lands from occupants.
Background to the story
In the past few weeks, many residents in Kasoa have faced severe brutality from land guards, who are using force to take legally acquired lands from the original owners. Some of these illegal acquisitions went on at Kasoa Obom Road, Kasoa Akweley, Kasoa Okludu, and Kasoa Columba amongst other places. It is alleged the crime is being perpetrated by Kwabena Atopi, and he has been doing that, using the authority of Nai. Odupong Awushi Tetteh.
On Monday 29th April 2024, the Ofaako Traditional Council debunked the claims of having sent Kwabena Atopi to demolish shops and also claim people's land in Kasoa, addressing the media Dr Kofi Okutwa Obeng, Spokesperson for Nai Odupong Awushi Tetteh ll, the overLord of Odupong Ofaako, maintained that, no instruction has been given to Kwabena Atopi to claim and grade any land in Kasoa, so as a matter of urgency the police administration should do the needful.
The police are yet to make an arrest, after visiting the palace on Tuesday 30th, April 2024.
