Former President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi has been named as one of the contenders to contest for the late John Kumah's seat at Ejisu Constituency.

The constituency is currently in search of a replacement after the death of former Deputy Finance Minister and NPP Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah.

Many believed Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi would be a good replacement with his rich experience in politics even though he has not been active in front-line politics.

GhanaNewsPage.Com also reports that ‘Kwesi Nyantakyi is allegedly busily working things behind the scenes’ for the position.

Sources say Kwesi Nyantakyi’s father hails from Kwaaso in the Ejisu Constituency while his mother hails from Wa in the Upper West Region.

However, the Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to announce a date for the Ejisu Constituency byelection
