African Games: $195m spent on World Class infrastructure

Ghana has spent about $195 million on world-class infrastructure for the upcoming All-African games to be hosted in Accra. 

This was confirmed by the Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif while addressing journalists ahead of the tournament scheduled for March 8 to March 23.

The newly built Borteyman Sports Complex and the upgraded University of Ghana Stadium will host the majority of the games.

“$145 million was invested in the construction of a state-of-the-art sports centre at Borteyman, $34 million was directed towards renovating the University of Ghana Stadium, and $16 million was earmarked for the refurbishment of the Games Village.” Mustapha Ussif explains.
