What was meant to be a rehearsal for the upcoming 67th Independence Day parade in Koforidua Prison Park turns into mourning for officers.
According to a report by Starr FM Online, a prison officer, identified as Lance Corporal Paul Badu, lost his life after complaining of dizziness during rehearsals but died shortly after he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A medical report says the officer “suffered a ruptured aneurysm, likely caused by high blood pressure.”
Lance Corporal Paul Bad, 40, joined the service in 2018 and leaves behind a grieving wife and two young children, aged one and a half years old and one-month-old baby.
The Koforidua Prisons confirmed the unfortunate incident.
