QUEEN Elizabeth was reportedly furious after Harry and Meghan said she had given her blessing to their daughter being called Lilibet, insiders have claimed.

The fuming monarch is said to have told aides: "I don't own the palaces, I don't own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now they've taken that," a source told MailOnline.

The late Queen Elizabeth was reportedly fuming after Meghan and Harry said she had given her blessing to name their daughter Lillibet

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor the second daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

The Sussexes' spokesman said the Queen was the first family member Harry contacted to announce his daughter's birth

Author Robert Hardman said a member of the late Queen's staff revealed that she was "as angry as I'd ever seen her" when the Duke and Duchess publicly said that they would not have used her private family nickname if she hadn't been "supportive."

BBC royal correspondent, Jonny Dymond, claimed hearing from a "Palace insider" that the Queen was "never asked" by Harry and Meghan about her childhood nickname.

Dymond said his source "disputed" reports that Harry and Meghan had talked to the Queen to get her approval before announcing the name.
