The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti region, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh says the 2024 election would have been much more difficult for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if Mr Kennedy Agyapong had left the party after their presidential primaries.

According to him, the outspoken lawmaker’s pledge to support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership to ‘Break the 8’ signifies a united front ready for the 2024 presidential election.

NAPO as affectionately called in politics ruled out Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten’s exit from the NPP as a threat to his party’s awaiting triumph.

“If we [NPP] have someone to fear, then it’s Kennedy Agyapong. The truth is, he has many followers in the party, and we saw that during the election. And if he is not departing from the NPP, who is Afafrantor to the NPP.” He said in a viral video while addressing some NPP members.
