The Institute for Security Disaster and Emergency Studies (ISDES) fears tension within the NDC might escalate across the country after calling on the MPs for Tamale South and Asawase Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak respectively to call their constituents to order.

Some irate youth are not happy with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and supporters of the two lawmakers on Wednesday protested against the removal of the duo as leaders of the party in Parliament.

Speaking to Asaase News and monitored by Theannouncergh.com on Wednesday the president of ISDES, Dr Ishmael Norman called on the security agencies to be tactful in handling the situation.

“I praise the Ghana police in Tamale South and Asawase because the people are angry, it is possible to get overboard,” he said.

“But the police should exercise professionalism to ensure they reduce tension when they arise, and I believe they will be briefed properly by the IGP,” Norman said.
