Osofo Kyiri Abosom, the Head Pastor of Life Assembly Worship Centre, has admonished Archbishop Charles Agyinasare and his Perez Chapel to call off their declaration of fast and prayer against the deity at Nogokpo.
The Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Benjamin Ohene Aboagye, on Sunday, June 4, declared a weeklong fast and prayers to protect their General Overseer who has incurred the wrath of the people of Nogokpo for citing an encounter he had with evil spirits within the community in a sermon he preached in the church.
“On the 25th of last month, during our Supernatural Empowerment Summit, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare made a statement concerning the Nogokpo issue. I think we are all aware of the issue in Ghana. It is trending on social media and other platforms. We, the Perez Council, on behalf of the Executive Council, have taken notice of all these things and this is what the Executive Council is saying.
“We are declaring a one-week fast from the 5th to the 11th of this month, and we expect all pastors, elders, deacons, deaconesses, and all our churches to participate in this fast for one week. We believe that God is our helper. He is our rock. He is the one we look up to. So this is the decision we have taken for now. We expect everyone [in all our branches] to take part in this fast”, Bishop Ohene Aboagye told the congregants.
Expressing his opinions on the matter on Peace FM news bulletin at 12 noon, Osofo Kyiri Abosom questioned the logic in the church embarking on a fast and prayer over Nogokpo.
"If Agyinasare has declared fasting and prayer to meet Nogokpo spirit, then he believes there is a powerful spirit over there. Then he should go and apologize to it. Because you are declaring fasting for what? He should stop it. If Perez Chapel does fasting and prayer to meet Nogokpo, then there is no power in the church but if there is power in it, there is no need to do fasting and prayer", he said.
To him, "if Nogokpo indeed has power, then it should show its power for us to see".
