The Communications and digitalisation Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has advised the youth not to concentrate much on marriage.
Speaking at the eTranzact International Women’s Day breakfast celebration in Accra last Wednesday, Owusu-Ekuful said: “Good or bad, marriage is not the ultimate, you are the ultimate.”
“There is nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it, so I am glad I took the decision, so no matter what decision you take, the most painful thing you can do is to live a life of regret, …always make the most of whatever opportunities that you have.”
“I chose to get married at 29 and it’s led me to where I am. It’s not the marriage that led me here, it shifted me from another part that I could have taken at the time and this is where I am,” she said.
International Women’s Day
The 2023 International Women’s Day is expected to focus on the priority theme for the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, which is “innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.”
This year’s theme is “DigitALL; innovation and technology for gender equality.”
