The occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has admonished members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to select a marketable individual in the choice of a Presidential candidate to lead the party come 2024.

According to him, choosing a candidate in the interest of the party without also factoring in the interest of the masses cannot help the party achieve its goals, thus seeking to maintain power. "You should choose a candidate that is also liked by the masses and not only party members. In this case, they'll support your course" he stated.

He also cautioned all aspirants to avoid politics of insults and character assassination as it would not augur well for the party.

To the current government, Mr Addai Nimoh reminded him, he has a role to play in achieving the party’s vision to continue power or to break the eight thus working harder to make life better and easier for Ghanaians with this

Mr. Francis Addai -Nimoh, a former Member of Parliament for Mampong Constituency, was also at the Palace to formally inform the Asantehene of his intention to contest the flagbearership of the NPP and seek for his blessings.
